FAQ about wide fit shoes
Our wide models are two sizes up in width compared to our regular fit, while the length stays the same. Choose your usual size and select the wide version.
Wide fit is a good choice if regular shoes press on the sides of your foot, if you have a high instep, or if your feet tend to swell during the day. If you are unsure, send us a message and we will help you find the right fit.
Yes. Most of our heels come in wide fit, from 1930s oxford heels like Marie and Mildred to T-strap and Mary Jane styles like Wilma, Judy and Yvonne, and 1940s pumps like Lucy, Edith and Luise.
Yes. Edwardian lace-up boots such as Josephine, Rose and Victoria, and everyday boots such as Alice, Britta, Ruth and Betty, all come in wide fit.
Yes. The extra width gives your toes room to move, and many styles have soft silicone inserts under the insole. Several of our wide fit styles also have leather soles, so you can dance in them too.
The story of our wide fit shoes
From the 1920s to the 1950s, many shoe shops offered the same style in several widths, so women could find a pair that fitted both the length and the width of their foot. Today most fashion brands make only one standard width, which is why women with wide feet often struggle to find elegant shoes.
Our styles are based on originals from these decades, and most of them come in a wide version, two sizes up in width. We have kept the period details, from the straps and perforations to the shape of the heel, so the wide version looks just like the regular one.
Every pair is made from full-grain leather or suede in small production runs.
Many styles have discreet silicone inserts under the insole, so you can wear them all day.
