These boots are really beautifully made. They are very comfortable to wear and I love the look of them when they are on. They go equally well with dresses or trousers. One drawback however is that they take so long to put on and take off. Not having a side zip means that you have to open an awful lot of the laces to put them on and remove them, so they are not good if you are in a hurry! I have narrow feet but it still takes me quite a while to put them on.
The other thing I would like advice about is that they feel very slippery in wet conditions and I worry about falling. Can you advise about some way of treating the sole so that they can be made more secure? I love the boots but these drawbacks mean I have to really think before I wear them whether the weather is going to be wet or frosty (as they may not be safe) and how long I will need to leave to put them on and take them off.

very comfortable

The boots are comfortable in the back and ankle area, but the inner part of the toe box presses on my foot while walking. I think the shape will adjust with time, I will also try to push it gently from within up to make it not press so much. Other than this, the boots look very beautiful and I am happy with my purchase.

Utterly divine boots.

Ohhhh, friends. Let me tell you, these boots are an absolute delight. After Dr Martens broke my heart one too many times, I set off to find a new black boot that lasts long and looks good doin' it. The search led me here and I couldn't be happier. I finally get my mom's love of shoes.

The first pair I ordered were just a touch too tight around the bridge/sides of my feet and I worried that I would pop the seams in the process of wearing in the leather. I didnt want to ruin such beautiful work! But also! I wanted these boots! Ditte was very patient and helpful as I blabbed way too much via email and got the whole thing sorted. I had initially ordered an 8 but after re-measuring myself and Ditte's advice, we exchanged them for a 7 wide.

I was worried about the new size, since I've usually only ever gotten 9 or 8.5's before, but they fit like a dream! There's a bit of tightness, but in exactly the way you want new leather shoes to be tight, knowing they'll soon become perfection and you won't have to suffer during the process.

I had bought some evening shoes from Memery which were amazingly comfortable so I was surprised that the boots were not as comfortable. I feel like they need breaking in particularly they are hard around my ankles.

So nice to finally find proper quality shoes. They are a bit tight around the foot, but since it’s real leather, it’s just a matter of time and then they will fit like a glove. Wow!

They fit great! I’m so glad they make smaller sizes!
