1910s Everyday Lace-up - Dark Brown - Ruth

These boots are simply amazing. I'm usually size 37 but decided to follow the guideline and chose 38. I was worried they will be too big as 38 is usually too loose on me, but they fit like a glove with enough space for the toes to rest comfortably. Prior to wearing these boots, I wasn't even aware that footwear isn't supposed to hurt your feet in some way. Memery shoes are my new standard now. It's honestly a miracle; I still can't get over just how comfortable they are.

The leather is of good quality and is pleasant to touch without being too soft or too stiff. It has a mark of quality on the sole.
I will have to get used to the lacing, since it takes a few minutes longer than usual, but it's honestly not an issue, makes it more historically accurate if anything :)
The design itself is obviously gorgeous. They make my feet look even smaller than they are. Very feminine, delicate and sophisticated look. Suitable for various clothing styles, even more casual ones.
Remarkably, they make a very satisfying sound when you walk, that reminds me of a chocolate bar for some reason hahah

There was a shipping issue, which almost made me lose all hope that I will ever see these boots in person. But thankfully, after almost two months of fighting with post office, I finally was able to receive them. However, the responsibility lies completely on the post' terrible handling mistake and not on Memery, so I believe it would be ridiculous to derive stars for that.
The boots were packed very nicely with lovely cards and additional laces.

I am very pleased with these boots and I'm sure they're going to serve me well for years to come. I am looking forward for more purchases from Memery, hopefully they won't be so stressful hahah x)

These are very special boots! Comfortable and a good fit. Purchase and delivery process is super efficient and memery were really helpful in swiftly providing a replacement pair due to a minor fault.

I’d never expected them to be that comfortable straight out of the box, the leather-canvas combo is truly something else. The shoes were nicely packaged, too.

I wore them for a week to experience the leather sole, then I took them to a cobbler because Belgium is too rainy and I want to wear them nearly daily. I’ve had them for a month now and I’m so happy I did! You honestly can’t tell from the side that there’s a rubber sole on them, so it doesn’t ruin the authentic look for me.

It’s the first time I wear vintage style shoes so I had to get used to the look for a moment (as is the case with anything you wear that deviates from the norm), but now I absolutely adore them. The heel sound is also fabulous. I’ve spent months and months pining for these boots, I’m so happy I went ahead and purchased them! They also just look so cool standing next to my other shoes, I feel like a movie character haha.

These boots fit me fine in the length however I really needed a 3X wide boot and this boot is not it.

I emailed the company and they maintain it is 3X wide, but I can barely get my foot into it and it’s extremely tight.

I asked if it would stretch and they said no more than a quarter to a half inch and that isn’t going to be enough.

If you return the boot, it has to be in the original condition so it’s not like you can wear it for a month or two to see if it’s gonna stretch enough to fit, so I’m going to have to return it. It’s looking like I have no other option but to find someone that makes custom-made boots.

Really sad, if I was a standard size and would’ve worked out perfectly

I pre ordered my Ruth boots back in August and they arrived begining of November. It was definately worth the wait! They came nicely wrapped in tissue paper in the box, with spare heels and laces I finally got to wear them for a Christmas event in Cambridge this weekend ( Dec).

My first impressions: Came beautifully wrapped and protected. The leather was soft and inner lining which was like a soft cotton are good quality. The construction is nice and solid . The boot heels are of a comfortable height not too high or low . Ruth came laced up and nice and shiny.

My first outting in them :

Lacing them up was a bit of a challenge, but I think I got it in the end. honestly the boots were lovely and comfy to wear, it felt like the leather was kissing my foot!

They were very easy to move and walk in and were secure but not stiff around the ankle, allowing for a good range of movement.

I wore them for a total of five hours two of which were standing and I have to report, no blisters , rubbing or discomfort.

They held up well on slightly damp uneven pavements and cobbles stone pavement too , carpet ( deep and low pile) and on regular pavement. I did however find them a little slippy on highly polished laminated floor, but the boots were brand new so I think that will improve with wear. Good on normal floor board style woodern stairs and carpeted stairs too. Held up well on un even gravel drive too. I was able to walk at decent walking pace as well.

I think these might have replaced the green memery sandles as my favourites!

Size wise: I am a wide footted size 6 (UK) I ordered the 6 Wide in Memery and wore them with 40 denier tights , and they , (the boots )fit like a glove.

I would say though you have to practice lacing them up because it does take getting used to. If I had one ask it would be a video tutorial on lacing these up, showing the best way to do them. Otherwise I'm very happy.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are super comfortable and look fantastic. I’m going to bring them to a cobbler for a rubber sole to keep them good even when it’s not as dry. The shoes also come with a second pair of laces and extra studs which is nice.
And also I have to give a massive plus for customer service. I initially bought them too narrow but exchange was absolutely no problem and shipping was fast both times

These are the most comfortable dress shoes I've ever worn. This is coming from someone who thinks they're cursed in finding comfortable footwear.

I have terrible luck in finding boots especially that don't slide at the heel or squash my toes as I am flat footed & typically a size 7, although I ordered these boots in a size 6.

With these gorgeous boots I don't have to make any adjustments to the inside. However, I do recommend sticking on outersole pads for protection of the leather which are easily obtainable online. Also, I like the click-clack of the heels, it's a nice non-piercing sound.

These are beautiful boots and are very well made.
I was a little concerned about the size at first ( size 7 ) as I wear small orthotics, but they fit neatly in.
They are a snug fit, but there is no ' pressing ' anywhere.
I wear them indoors at the moment, and being all leather, they will give a little and make them even more comfortable.
